Sai Wan Ho Hong Kong Film Archive | Morning Matinee: Youthful Impressions – 60th Anniversary of the Seven Princesses

Description
Were the Seven Princesses the forebears of local girl groups?! None other than Josephine Siao, Connie Chan, Deanie Ip, Nancy Sit, Suet Nei, Wang Ai-ming and Fung Bo Bo, these seven were the hottest stars of their time, collaborating not only on screen but also forging a sisterhood off-screen that has quietly endured for six decades. Organised by the Film Programmes Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the 'Morning Matinee' programme will revisit their on-screen collaborations and friendship under the theme 'Youthful Impressions – 60th Anniversary of the Seven Princesses', with post-screening talks after selected sessions.
The Seven Princesses, in order of seniority, are: First Princess Fung So Po, Second Princess Shum Chi Wah, Third Princess Connie Chan, Fourth Princess Josephine Siao, Fifth Princess Suet Nei, Sixth Princess Wong Ai-ming, and Fung So Po's younger sister, Seventh Princess Fung Bo Bo. They all started out at Tong Xing and formed their sisterhood in 1965. From November to February next year, Morning Matinee: Youthful Impressions – 60th Anniversary of the Seven Princesses will present 15 films featuring the seven stars in four thematic series: 'Sisterhood Commemorative', 'Classic Representations', 'Youthful Romances' and 'Fragrant Shadows'.
